This Ginger Soy Glazed Chicken is so simple and flavourful. This recipe uses a soy sauce marinade, which adds flavor and umami to the chicken. It is one of my family’s absolute favorite chicken dish.
This super simple marinade can also be used on chicken breast or thighs but chop them into smaller pieces to increase chicken contact to marinade.
Ingredients:
- 8 pieces chicken fillet
- 2 teaspoon of vegetable oil
- 1 stalks of scallion (optional)
Seasoning:
- 2 tablespoon light soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon white pepper
Steps:
- Wash chicken fillet and placed in a deep bowl.
- Add light soy sauce, minced garlic, minced ginger, brown sugar and pepper.
- Turn to coat and marinate for at least 30 minutes/ overnight.
- Heat cooking oil in a non-stick pan and set over medium-high heat.
- When hot, add the chicken and cook until well browned on each side and cooked through.
- Remove the cooked chicken to a clean plate, then repeat with the second batch.
- Pour leftover marinade into the skillet and allow it to come up to a boil until it reduces to a thick glaze.
- Turn off fire and add the cooked chicken back to the skillet, and dredge it in the thick glaze.
- Garnish with sliced green onions (optional).
