As a parents with school going children, some of the important things that we have to know is:-

APPLICATION FOR ENROLLMENT TO GOVERNMENT PRIMARY SCHOOL YEAR 1

When your child is 5-6years old and you wish to send them to government primary school, you can apply for enrollment to Year 1 Primary School. The application must be made online through the MOE Online Registration system for schools in Peninsular Malaysia only. For Sabah, Sarawak and the Federal Territory of Labuan, the application has to be done manually through the schools.

Manual application through school – (Sabah & Sarawak)

  • Parents/guardians need to attend the school and fill in the relevant forms
  • Completed applications must be submitted to the selected school.

Online Applications through the MOE Online Registration System Peninsular Malaysia

  • Only parents/guardians are allowed to apply for the student

  • Registration is between 1 March and 30 April (every year)

After completing the application, you’ll have 14 days to verify it at the designated school.You should bring a hard copy of registration form, along with these supporting documents:

  • Birth certificate of child (original and copy)
  • IC of parent or guardian (original and copy)
  • Marriage certificate or divorce document (original and copy)
  • Utility bills (electric/water/assessment bills/rent/Telekom) under parent’s/guardian’s name to verify residential address (original and copy)
  • Sibling’s birth certificate if they are studying in the same school (Copy)
  • Doctor’s health report or OKU card (if applicable)

CHECK RESULTS FOR ENROLLMENT TO GOVERNMENT PRIMARY SCHOOL YEAR 1 

  • Between 1-31 August (every year), parents/ guardian can check results of enrollment to govenment primary school at https://public.moe.gov.my.
  • If you agree with the school allocated, then you need to confirm placement online. (For SJKC Lai Meng, I need to submit a hardcopy letter of placement to the school. The school will provide another form to fill in again to be submitted together with the the letter of placement.)
  • If you not agree with the school given and would like to request to change school, you can make appeal online by 31st August.
