Heng Xiang Nan Yang Kopitiam

Situated in the heart of a Bukit Jalil City and near to the Pavillion Bukit Jalil, Heng Xiang Nan Yang Kopitiam is a new restaurant in the neighbourhood.

Atmosphere/ Decor

It look like a humble shoplot from the outside. As you walked into the shop you are welcomed by a traditional kopitiam setting. The wooden chairs and tables give it that vintage look while the simple hanging lighting helps make the cafe appear more vibrant. Unlike traditional kopitiams where tables are arranged closely, the seating arrangement here gives you plenty of personal space.

The Menu

They have kopitiam staples like half-boiled eggs, steamed and toasted bread, Nan Yang coffee and milk tea. For those coming in for something more filling, go for dishes like Penang Curry Fish Head, Nasi Lemak + Fried Chicken, Penang Curry Laksa, Penang Prawn Noodle or Prawn Shredded Chicken Koay Teow.

The Food

Hot Cham tasted like hot coffee and it tasted bitter as I prefer to have it with more milk.

This toasted bread with butter and sugar is crispy. However, I prefer another version:- Butter the bread and spread sugar first, THEN toast it.

For breakfast, this Penang Prawn Noodle is too oily for me. How I wish it has more prawn flavour.

A bowl of Shredded Chicken Hot Fun is just nice for my little kids with some shredded chicken and prawns.

Ingredients/Prices

Hot Cham cost RM3.20, toasted bread with butter and sugar cost RM3, Penang Prawn Noodle and Shredded Chicken Hot Fun cost RM8.50. Price is affordable but quality of food need to be improved.

Service

Certainly need to improve the operation management as they print the correct order but made the wrong items. Ordered Hot Cham but Hot Coffee was served. Ordered sugar butter toast but they made kaya butter toast.
